I attended a workshop today on the social factors that influence how likely someone is to drink alcohol. It made me think of teenagers and alcohol use. This is an important topic because adults who abuse alcohol are likely to report starting drinking as teenagers, and alcohol use can significantly impact teens’ brain development (thus impacting academic performance, decision making, etc.).
I thought I’d share the following:
- (For Teens): The Cool Spot- Facts About Alcohol
- (For Teens): Above The Influence- Alcohol
- Advice For Parents: Alcohol (Several videos on the topic)
- Alcohol and Adolescent Development (a brief handout)
